Coastal's on the Rocks - Promo

This documentary will be focussing on three key characters in the coastal towns of England who are challenged with a global pandemic keep the town on its feet by adapting their businesses so that they keep places like Whitby and Staithes going. This will be a character driven piece with three main characters. Our first main character is a man called Barry who has a pleasure cruise business, Barry owns a boat of his own who he takes tourists out on all year round. Our second character is Barry’s partner, Jenny who is a manager of a sea food shop. Our third character is a man called Martin who owns a wildlife vessel, Martins takes tourists out on trips on his boat in Staithes All of these individuals have a positive look on to pandemic, doing all that they can to keep this seaside towns alive no matter what the circumstances. In the documentary series we will explore what these three characters do, showing the audience the vessels that they use and how the businesses have adapted to the crisis that we are facing in 2020. The structure of the story is to be directly character driven to match the Channel 4 brief, exploring how these three individuals no matter what hit them kept their businesses going to provide for Whitby & Staithes. The documentary will explore the impact that the pandemic has had on these individuals, the overall aim is to show how these people have adapted to continue to support the town. The documentary's focus is to unveil a connection between these three business owners, to show audiences their continued support for seaside town communities.
